Farewell Menu at Killen’s Heights
Killen’s, 101 Heights Boulevard, is saying goodbye after five years in the Heights with a limited-time farewell menu, kicking off Tuesday, June 30 and running through its final service on Saturday, July 18. Chef Ronnie Killen is bringing back original favorites including chicken-fried steak, 24-hour fried chicken, pork chops, oxtails and the Cafeteria Burger alongside barbecue by the pound and classic Southern sides. The Bib Gourmand–recognized spot will also serve desserts like German chocolate cake made from a family recipe as it closes out its run in Houston.

Molina’s Cantina Day at Molina’s Cantina
Molina’s Cantina celebrates its officially proclaimed city holiday with a one-day $34.95 fajita combo for two plus all-day happy hour pricing on drinks at all locations. The annual tradition honors “Molina’s Cantina Day,” recognized in Houston by then-mayor Annise Parker, and brings guests in for a classic fajita-and-margarita kind of day built around longtime regulars and family legacy.
Grand Opening at Tacodeli Katy
Tacodeli opens its newest Houston-area location with a 6:30 a.m. debut and a limited “free tacos for a year” offer for the first 25 guests in line at 19302 Katy Freeway. The Texas-based taqueria from chef Roberto Espinosa will also mark opening day with $5 margaritas all day, plus breakfast, lunch and dinner service featuring its signature tacos, bowls, salsas and queso.

Bi-Weekly Feature Menu at Goode Co. Barbecue
Goode Co. Barbecue, 5109 Kirby, introduces a rotating bi-weekly feature menu at its Kirby location, running Thursday through Sunday through early fall 2026. The limited-time lineup includes pit specials like slow-smoked Dino beef rib, mesquite smoked pork belly and green chile pimento cheese, plus rotating Texas-inspired dishes and family-style platters that change every couple of weeks and are served until sold out.

Fourth of July Backyard BBQ at Long Weekend
Long Weekend, 2044 East TC Jester, invites folks to its July 4 Backyard BBQ starting at 11 a.m. with live music, a dunk tank and family-friendly activities. The all-day party includes bbq plates, hot dogs and casual bites alongside frozen patriotic cocktails, whiskey pours, $1 off domestic beers and Jell-O shots.
Liberty & Lux Fireworks Party at FORME
Liberty & Lux takes over the 12th-floor pool deck at FORME, 5501 LaBranch, for a fireworks-viewing party featuring an open bar, passed bites from Lucille’s 1913, live music and DJ sets. The fun starts at 6 p.m. and tickets range from $125 to $5,000 with proceeds benefiting Street Art for Mankind’s public art initiative.

Hurricane Season Volunteer Opportunities at Houston Food Bank
As hurricane season begins, the Houston Food Bank is seeking volunteers to help assemble disaster relief boxes stocked with shelf-stable food, water and cleaning supplies for future emergency response efforts. Volunteer shifts are available at the Houston Food Bank, 535 Portwall, Monday through Sunday, with morning, afternoon and select evening opportunities. Individuals, families and groups are welcome, and volunteers can also bring donations of nonperishable food items, particularly pull-tab canned goods, during their shift. Registration is available online through the Houston Food Bank.
