Battle of The Bruschetta at Postino Wine Cafe

Annual summertime competition Battle of The Bruschetta is back at Postino, with six limited-time creations competing for a permanent spot on the menu Through July 14, guests can try and vote between Roast Beef & Horseradish and Muffuletta bruschettas before the winning flavors advance to the championship round in August. Visit any Houston Postino location to cast your vote.

Farewell Menu at Killen’s Heights 

Killen’s, 101 Heights Boulevard, is saying goodbye after five years in the Heights with a limited-time farewell menu, offered now through its final service on Sunday, July 19. Chef Ronnie Killen is bringing back original favorites including chicken-fried steak, 24-hour fried chicken, pork chops, oxtails and the Cafeteria Burger alongside barbecue by the pound and classic Southern sides.

Mondays in Ibiza at Brasserie 19

Brasserie 19, 1962 West Gray, hosts its first Monday of the month Mondays in Ibiza series from 4 p.m. to close, featuring chef Charles Clark’s paella served in generous portions with chicken, shrimp, sausage, calamari and mussels, plus optional seasonal sangria.

Stretch, Sip & Slice at Pizzana River Oaks

Pizzana, 2029 West Gray, hosts hands-on pizza making class Stretch, Sip & Slice. Tickets ($75) include two glasses of wine or mocktails, Cesare insalata and pizza.

Thursday, July 9

Spanish Wine Dinner at Dario’s Steakhouse & Seafood

Dario’s Steakhouse & Seafood, 14315 Cypress Rosehill Road, is hosting a one-night Spanish Wine Dinner, beginning at 7 p.m. The $119 per person, four-course menu features Spanish pincho with Jamón Serrano, Fabada Asturiana, cider-poached shrimp salad, and wood-grilled filet mignon with Riojana potatoes, each paired with wines from regions including Cava, Priorat, Rías Baixas and Rioja. The evening finishes with Basque cheesecake paired with cream sherry.

National French Fry Day at Brassica 

Brassica, 1413 South Voss, is celebrating National French Fry Day with “A Little Extra Joy,” offering a complimentary order of its signature Brassica Fries with any dine-in entrée all day.

Saturday, July 11

Saint Arnold Downtown Pub Crawl

Saint Arnold’s Downtown Pub Crawl returns Saturday, July 11 from 2 to 7 p.m., starting with a free punch card pickup from 2 and 3 p.m. Guests can move through stops including Flying Saucer, Angel’s Share, Shay McElroy’s, Little Dipper, Dean’s and Underground Hall before finishing back at Flying Saucer around 6 p.m. to collect a commemorative glass. The free, self-guided crawl requires no ticket or purchase.

Kids Eat Free Sundays at J-Bar-M Barbecue

Sundays bring a limited-time Kids Eat Free promotion at J-Bar-M Barbecue, 2201 Leeland, offered through the World Cup final on July 19. Kids under 12 get one free kids’ meal – cheese quesadilla, chicken tenders, mini corn dogs or funnel cake fries – plus ice cream with the purchase of each adult meal.

Two Dine for $99 at Brennan’s

This July, Brennan’s, 3300 Smith, brings back its Two Dine for $99 summer menu, offering a three-course prix fixe for two available at brunch, lunch or dinner. The menu includes starters like snapping turtle soup or shrimp rémoulade, entrées such as petite filet Oscar, Gulf shrimp and grits or eggs Brennan, and desserts including Mississippi mud pie or bananas Foster, with select wines starting at $30 per bottle.

Kolache of the Month at Kolache Shoppe

Kolache Shoppe’s July menu runs Thursday through Saturday at the Greenway Shoppe and Friday through Sunday at the Heights, Memorial and Pearland locations, featuring a Lebanese sausage and Akkawi cheese kolache with za’atar, a Blueberries & Cream kolache, a Pearland-exclusive Piña Colada kolache and a Banana Bread Oat Milk Latte.

The Generous Pour at The Capital Grille 

The Capital Grille’s annual Generous Pour wine tasting returns through August 30. For $38 with the purchase of a dinner entree, guests can sample six Duckhorn Portfolio wines, including the limited-edition Duckhorn Napa Valley Heritage Cabernet Sauvignon and Goldeneye North Coast Brut Rosé. A six-course wine dinner pairing is also available for $125 per person.

Hurricane Season Volunteer Opportunities at Houston Food Bank

As hurricane season begins, the Houston Food Bank is seeking volunteers to help assemble disaster relief boxes stocked with shelf-stable food, water and cleaning supplies for future emergency response efforts. Volunteer shifts are available at the Houston Food Bank, 535 Portwall, Monday through Sunday, with morning, afternoon and select evening opportunities. Individuals, families and groups are welcome, and volunteers can also bring donations of nonperishable food items, particularly pull-tab canned goods, during their shift. Registration is available online through the Houston Food Bank.
