Mostly MarthaYou are what you cookBy Julia RameyPublished on November 26, 2008 at 1:43amThe lackluster Catherine Zeta-Jones flick No Reservations didnt make much of a splash, but the original film on which it was based, Sandra Nettelbecks 2001 German rom-com Mostly Martha, nailed the foodie-love story genre. The film, which screens today on the patio between Brasil and Domy Books as part of a series of food-and-wine-themed movies hosted by My Table magazine, centers on a self-absorbed, rage-aholic, workaholic chef who has a stronger relationship with her culinary creations than with any human being. But then her sister dies, leaving behind a teenage niece whose sudden presence forces Martha to engage with other people for once not only the niece, but also the handsome new sous-chef, Mario. A cash bar and food specials will spice up your evening. 8:30 p.m. 1709 Westheimer. For information, call 713-523-3669 or visit www.domystore.com. Free.
