Houston Is An Ant City

Welcome to the second day of Houston Week here on the daily video. All this week we will feature only videos from Houston artists. Yesterday we went with a wonderfully sweet cover of "Over the Rainbow" by Shellee Coley, and today we will do the exact opposite of that.
Together We Are Instruments is, well, a bunch of wackadoos. That's fine, we like wackadoos. With their loopings, and their tapings, and their found-soundings, they put together avant garde weirdness for those who enjoy that sort of thing... like us.
The video for today is "Ant City," in which we hear their harsh, environmental music set over a steadily intermeshing series of nature videos involving ants and American-culture footage. It's a statement about our own inherent hive-mindedness, and the dangers of losing your individuality in such a time of flux as is the period of history we are currently riding the bomb down into.
It's not something to just click on and wait for the nut-shot. Find yourself somewhere quiet and dark, and let TWAI do things to your cortex for seven minutes.
