M. William Phelps: Never See Them Again

A rich Houston suburb seemed an unlikely place for a horrific murder in the summer of 2003. But then, everything in M. William Phelps’s true crime thriller Never See Them Again is unlikely, starting with the victims and ending with their killer. Phelps, a best-selling author, will be reading from and signing Never See Them Again today.

It was a hot July day when Rachael Koloroutis and Tiffany Rowell, two beautiful, popular 18-year-old girls, were found dead inside a Clear Lake house. Next to them, two young men, Marcus Precella and his cousin, Adelbert Sanchez, were also dead. Their killer? Christine Paolilla, a shy, graceless 17-year-old girl Rachael and Tiffany had befriended.

Starting on the day of the killings and ending on the day of Paolilla’s conviction several years later, Phelps details the inexplicable crime. He conducted almost 100 hours of interviews with sources, crawled through thousands of documents and drew from his own expertise as a leading authority on female murderers to weave a thrilling narrative that’s made all the more shocking by the crime’s proximity.
