Design is weaved into Mequitta Ahujas exhibit Flowback. The artists crayon drawings explore the relationships black women have with their hair the love, hate, tangles, locks, fussing, fighting and showing off. Her works feature women with their heads tilted back so their extra-long dos flow down the canvas. Each tress is textured, some with patterns resembling the night sky, outer space or foliage. A three-paneled piece called Loop depicts two womens tresses curly and straight tangled together in a net of braids, highlighted strands and bursts of light. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays; noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays.
