Tomorrow is the grand opening of Houston's newest Chick-Fil-A (2222 Shearn). And above is the insane line of people who created a tent city today in advance.
Why? Because the first 100 people in the door tomorrow morning receive free Chick-Fil-A for a year.
"We do this with all grand openings," said a Chick-Fil-A employee by phone today. Franchise owner Drew Ellis and his managers were all at a company luncheon, and the sole employee left to man the store seemed a little bemused but not surprised. There were at least several dozen people camped outside this afternoon at 2 p.m., with room for more if you're feeling brave.
If you're hoping to be one of those first 100 in the door tomorrow, better get that old pup tent out of the attic and head on down today.
