Wine Dinner at B&B Butchers

Winemaker Bob Egelhoff will present the wines at this six-course wine dinner at B&B Butchers, 1814 Washington, which will be served alongside fare like crab Louie, tuna au poivre and dry-aged sirloin. Brindisi!: Beer and Belting at Saint Arnold

Houston-based Prima Volta, a nonprofit that aims to create and perform new art, is hosting an evening of song at Saint Arnold Brewing Company, 2000 Lyons. Admission is $20 and includes a concert by some of Houston's best up-and-coming performers and composers, plus two hours' worth of unlimited beer. (Yes, you read that correctly.) The show begins at 7:30 p.m., and you can find more details and purchase tickets on the Prima Volta website. (This event was originally scheduled for April 18, but was rescheduled because of weather concerns.)

Ouisie's Table Celebrates 43 Years

To celebrate 43 years of business, Ouisie's Table, 3939 San Felipe, will be offering menu items from its early days at their original prices every Tuesday between today and June 8, such as curry lamb chops for just $8.95.

HAYOP Series at Boheme

Filipino chef Yana Gilbuena continues her two-month kitchen residency at Boheme Cafe & Wine Bar, 307 Fairview, this week. Each Tuesday until the end of May, she'll be taking over the kitchen at Boheme for a snout-to-tail menu that uses almost every part of locally sourced meats. While this event was originally à la carte, it is now a prix fixe menu with two seatings, one at 6:30 p.m. and one at 8:30 p.m. The cost is $65 per person, and you can call 713-529-1099 for reservations and details.

Monthly Wine Tasting at Rainbow Lodge

The theme for this edition of the monthly wine tasting at Rainbow Lodge, 2011 Ella, is "Summer in Piedmont," a region of northern Italy. This sip-and-stroll event, which goes from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., also features light bites, such as lentils with house-made game sausage and buttermilk fried quail with sweet potato mash and chipotle gravy. Special guest Susan Ebert, author of The Field to Table Cookbook: Gardening, Foraging, Fishing & Hunting, will also be on hand to sign cookbooks. Cost is $35 per person, and reservations can be made by calling 713-861-8666.

Enfield Wine Co. Dinner at The Durham House

Join John Lockwood, winemaker and owner of Enfield Wine Co., for this 7 p.m. wine dinner at The Durham House, 1200 Durham, featuring, of course, four Enfield Wine Co. wines. The fare includes braised goat with country biscuits and pickled strawberry jam, as well as Cajun boar loin with shallots, beets, local cream and house-aged butter. Reservations are $85 per person and can be made on the restaurant's website.

Wine. Dine. Design. on Wheels.

This benefit for Evelyn's Park Conservancy features food trucks, drink pairings, live music and a pop-up whiskey bar from Reserve 101, plus a complimentary shuttle to help you get to each stop. The fare and libations will be found in four of the homes featured in the 2016 Bellaire New Home Showcase, and the base of the whole operation will be the Bellaire United Methodist Church, 4417 Bellaire, where you can park and pay your $100 registration fee. The event runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Italian Wine Tasting at Pappas Bros.

This 6 p.m. wine tasting at Pappas Bros. Steahouse, 1200 McKinney, features a great variety of wines from across Italy and across vintages, including one that dates back to 1980. All Weekend Long

Anheuser-Busch Celebrates 50 Years in Texas

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of its presence in Texas, Anheuser-Busch is throwing a weekend-long party at the Anheuser-Busch Houston Brewery, 775 Gellhorn, including live appearances by the Budweiser Clydesdales from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, food trucks both days, and live music from noon to 8 p.m. on Saturday. The celebration is free and open to the public.

Saturday, May 14

12th Annual Empty Bowls Houston

During this fundraiser at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, 4848 Main, attendees who make a donation of $25 or more to the Houston Food Bank can select an empty bowl handcrafted by a Houston artist to take home, which symbolizes the empty bowls in the Houston community. The bowl they choose will be filled with soup and accompanied by a side of bread. There will also be live music and artists' demonstrations throughout the day. Soup will be served at 11 a.m. until it runs out, and the event ends at 3 p.m. Check out the website for more details, including the preview party on Friday, May 13.

North Shore Rotary Club's Catfish Fry and Crawfish Boil Fundraiser

It's time for the 41st annual Catfish Fry and Crawfish Boil Fundraiser, put on by the North Shore Rotary Club. It will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the North Shore Rotary Pavilion, 14350 Wallisville, and includes a live auction, silent auction, raffles (including two 2016 Toyotas), and, of course, lots of catfish and crawfish. Meal tickets are $10 each.

D & T Drive Inn Celebrates Another Year

Visit D & T Drive Inn, 1307 Enid, to celebrate the eatery's third birthday with rare beers, live music and a whole roasted hog. The party kicks off at noon.

Sunday, May 15

Bands on the Bayou

Every Sunday from now through May 29, the patio at Brenner's on the Bayou, 1 Birdsall, will transform into a backyard party on the bayou, complete with brews, bands and bites, including drink specials. Live music will be provided by a different band each week from 3 to 6 p.m.; this week features The Fuse.

Saint Arnold's PUP Crawl

Tickets must be purchased in advance for this Saint Arnold PUP crawl through the Houston Arboretum, 4501 Woodway. The walk will feature stops with beer, water and other treats for you and your pup – who is, of course, welcome to attend. (Additional pups are welcome, too!) Limited parking is available at the Houston Arboretum, and there will be a shuttle running from Memorial Park, as well. Lawn chairs are also encouraged in case you and your best friend want to take a seat and take a drink along the way. The crawl goes from 4 to 6 p.m., and tickets are $10 per person.

Go Wagyu!

This cooking competition will pit seven top Houston chefs against one another to see who can cook the best Wagyu beef dish, including Seth Siegel-Gardner and Terrence Gallivan of Pass & Provisions, Philippe Gaston of Izakaya, Ronnie Killen of Killen's Steakhouse and Chris Shepherd of Underbelly.  The event goes from 4 to 8 p.m. outside of Soma Sushi, 4820 Washington, and attendees will receive not only samples of the competition dishes, but also sweets from Rebecca Masson of Fluff Bake Bar, coffee from David Buehrer of Blacksmith, and plenty of other food and drinks (some alcoholic). A portion of the proceeds will go to the Texas Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, and only 350 tickets are available, so get yours today. Cost is $200 per person.
