Well, this is getting old. Actually, it is old. But you know what they say: It's not a party until the cops come. Or someone whips out a gun.
So it must have been quite a party Tuesday night at Plush Lounge on Milam. According to KHOU.com, police were called when a large crowd of about 300 people emptied into the area around Milam and Drew after several fights broke out in the Midtown nightspot and "another nightclub" (probably Imperial Lounge) in the wee small hours of the morning.
It took a dozen officers, a K-9 unit and one helicopter to get the melee under control, Channel 11 reports. Police said someone in the crowd fired a weapon - we're guessing it wasn't a bow and arrow - but no one was injured. Eight people were arrested on a variety of charges, including (whoa) public intoxication.
Not bad for a Tuesday night. Here we thought Houston crowds confined their idiotic behavior to the weekends. Guess not everyone has to get up early.
If anyone was at or around Plush or Imperial Tuesday and would like to tell us more about the situation that left the sidewalks and parking lots near the clubs "littered with debris," drop Rocks Off a line or leave a comment.
And knock it off already, for God's sakes.
