Fat Tuesday/Mardi Gras Celebrations

Thursday, March 6

Backstreet Pop-up Wine Dinner at Hugoโ€™s

As it continues its rebuild, Backstreet Cafe is popping up for another wine dinner at its sister restaurant, Hugoโ€™s, 1600 Westheimer, featuring the wines of Napa Valleyโ€™s Turley Wine Cellars. The evening begins with a welcome reception at 6 p.m. followed by a seated dinner at 6:30 p.m., with highlights including tuna crudo, crispy duck with pomegranate glaze, strip steak bordelaise and butterscotch bread pudding. Tickets are $145 per person plus tax and gratuity.

Rodeo Wine Bingo at Post Oak Hotel

The Post Oak Hotel, 1600 West Loop South, invites folks to sip, savor, and play at Rodeo Wine Bingo, hosted by Stellaโ€™s expert sommelier team from 6 to 8 p.m. The elevated take on bingo features Rodeo Uncorked wines and a personal charcuterie selection for $78 per person. No RSVP required.

Friday, March 7

Rodeo Roundup at Rice Village

Houstonโ€™s iconic and historic Rice Village will host its 4th annual Rodeo Roundup from 5 to 8 p.m. at 5510 Morningside. The free, family-friendly event rocks pop up experiences and rodeo-centered promos, sips and light bites, a live performance from local country musician, Cooper Mohrmann, a mechanical bull ride and face painting, and bandana freebies.

Saturday, March 8

EmpowHER Brunch at Thirteen by James Harden

Thirteen, 1911 Bagby, will host the EmpowHER Brunch on International Womenโ€™s Day, bringing together powerhouse women for an afternoon of networking, inspiration and celebration from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Expect panel discussions, fireside chats, interactive workshops and a gourmet brunch experience crafted from Thirteenโ€™s new brunch menu, plus luxury cocktails from Diamantรฉ Tequila and J-Harden Wines and exclusive giveaways. General Admission tickets are priced at $40 per person, with a VIP experience for $100 per person and special discount bundles for groups of three or more.

Guest Chef Taco Collaboration: Truth BBQ at Little Rey

Little Rey, 2345 Mid Lane, is launching a new monthly guest chef taco collab series, with a special taco created by a rotating local chef featured and 100 percent of its proceeds going to Southern Smoke Foundation to benefit food and beverage workers in need. The series kicks off in March, with The lineup includes Truth BBQโ€™s Leonard Botello IV crafting a smoked beef cheek with a Pasilla Oaxaca sauce.
