Provisions

Provisions is the more casual half of The Pass & Provisions, but that doesn't mean you can’t also have an ambitious dinner here. The food is simply less artsy and more hearty and soul-satisfying than the Pass. Wear jeans if you want—or a cocktail dress. It’s up to you. The wine list is always top-notch and there’s a list of well-regarded beers, too. Provisions serves lunch and dinner every day except Sunday. Make it to the Saturday brunch if you can. It’s the only time you get to see the pastry side of the operation at the forefront. Dishes are wildly inventive, so come with an open mind. Pizzas and pastas are usually quite good, but don’t neglect the ever-changing selection of fresh fish, shellfish and meat dishes. The Ham O’ The Day is practically a required appetizer for meat eaters. Feeling frivolous? There is almost always one item on the menu to go crazy with. Whole lobe of foie gras, anyone? How about a whole suckling pig? Save room for the desserts, which feature a changing selection of elevated sweets like maraschino cherry soft serve with cocoa nib and chili and blue corn custard with kasha streusel. People on a budget should take advantage of the happy hour available at the bar and patio only between 2:30 and 6 p.m. daily.
