All is well at the Whole Foods at 2955 Kirby, and the store plans to reopen to the public at 5 p.m., but many pumpkins perished in the blaze that erupted around 2 p.m. today when a seasonal display at the store's entrance caught fire.
The Houston Fire Department responded quickly and no one was injured, save the poor pumpkins. A slideshow of photos from the fire shows that the pine needles and hay on which the pumpkins rested was likely the main source of fuel for the conflagration.
